(Ecuador Plants Red List Authority) Status rationale for Bomarea ceratophora: A vine endemic to Ecuador, where it is known from two collections in the eastern cordillera, at the confluence of the Ro Pastaza and Ro Topo, and near Mera. Not known to occur inside Ecuador's protected areas, but may be found in the eastern portion of the Parque Nacional Llanganates and the southern portion of the Reserva Ecolgica Antisana. The principal threat is habitat alteration. No specimens of this species are housed in Ecuadorian museums. Habitat destruction is the only known threat to the species.
